2019 Scholarship Awards

Kolby Brodie

CHAMBERLAIN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP
Kolby Brodie received the Chamberlain Family Scholarship through the Angleton Alumni Association. He will attend Brazosport, then transfer to the University of Houston to major in engineering. He was active in cross country and soccer and worked as a referee for the Angleton Complex. His mother is Belinda Ramirez Brodie, Class of 1991. He is shown with Sam Chamberlain ’66 and AISD Supt. Phil Edwards.

Makennah Brodie

MARVIN & BETTYE JACOBSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Makennah Brodie received the Jacobson Family Scholarship through the Alumni Association. She will attend Texas Tech to become a physician’s assistant. She was captain of the cheerleading squad, Homecoming Queen, Fair Queen representative and Junior Class president. Alumni parents are Aaron Brodie ’94 and Tanya Obregon ’94. She and her family are shown with Katie Jacobson Clegg ’69 and AISD Supt. Phil Edwards.

Abbie Casiano

CLASS OF 1967 SCHOLARSHIP
Abbie Casiano received a Class of 1967 scholarship through the Alumni Association. She will study elementary education at Sam Houston State. During school, she was active in the Future Educators, took dual credit at Brazosport, was a church counselor and worked at Smithhart’s. She is shown with her mother Monica Casiano, Alumni president John Morgan and AISD superintendent Phil Edwards.

Dylan Hanson

O. V. McDANIEL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Dylan Hanson received the O.V. McDaniel Memorial Scholarship through the Alumni Association. Captain of the soccer team, he will play soccer at Texas A&M at Texarkana, where he will major in electrical engineering. He is shown with parents Mike Hanson ’92, Jennifer Hattaway ’99, grandparents, Alumni president John Morgan, Jim McDaniel and Supt. Phil Edwards.

Madeline Haston

CLASS OF 1967 SCHOLARSHIP
Madeline Haston received a Class of 1967 scholarship though the Alumni Association. She plans to attend The University of Texas at San Antonio and become a neonatal nurse. An Honor Grad, she also had 30 hours of college credit and was active in HOSA. She is shown with parents Greg Haston ’91 and Christina Haston with Alumni president John Morgan and Supt. Phil Edwards.

Kileigh Melton

ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP
Kileigh Melton received an Angleton Alumni Association scholarship. Ranked 24 of 461 graduates, she will major in biochemistry at Texas A&M. In high school she was a cheerleader, PALS leader, and dual credit student. She is shown with scholarship committee member Jeanie Gustavsen, mother Melissa Melton and AISD superintendent Phil Edwards.

Anastasia Schaffe

ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP
Angleton senior Anastasia Schaffer was the recipient of one of the Angleton Alumni scholarships. She is shown with parents Nathan and Suzanne Schaffer, Alumni president John Morgan and AISD Supt Phil Edwards. Anastasia, who was ranked 12th in her class, will major in chemical engineering at A&M. She was active in FFA and 4-H, competed in barrel racing and taught riding lessons.
