Commissioners’ Court naming new Maintenance Complex at Brazoria County Parks Headquarters after retired Deputy Parks Director J. R. Norris ’73.

New ag science complex at Waller High named after retired agriculture teacher Don Andrews ’61.     

Karrie Daniel ‘82 competing in the VinFast Ironman World Championship in New Zealand, running and swimming 70.3 miles.  

Former elementary and  junior high art teacher Mary Helen Bates celebrating her 99th birthday on January 18, 2025.     

Nick Rice ‘08 running (and finishing) the Houston Marathon Jan 19, 2025           

DONATIONS     
Cheryl Soley purchased a 1930s scrapbook at an estate sale and donated it to the History Center.  Tommy Gaines ’72 purchased Purple Pride cookbooks he donated to the History Center. Marguerite Sutton donated a 2001 alumni directory plus a graduation cap and programs from 1999.  Tina Bonnen, monetary donation to History Center; Reggie Warren ’71 donated 1968. ’69, ’70, ’ 71 Lehmann-Neal mini footballs; Tom Moseman ‘66 made donations to the Class of 1966 scholarship fund and  the History Center; Gay Nunnally ‘66, donation to Class of 1966 scholarship

MEMBERSHIPS     
New lifetime member is Susan Williamson Woods ’82.  

COOKBOOKS     
The Alumni Association has received the third printing of former math/business teacher Sue Neill’s cookbook “My Life In Recipes: Food, Family, Friends”.  Books available at History Center for $20 and by mail at Alumni Association, PO Box 122 Angleton 77516 for $25 which includes shipping.   

HANDBAGS & GLADRAGS     
The annual Handbags & Gladrags luncheon will move to the CTE Center this year and be catered by culinary arts students.  Event will be Saturday, March 1 from 11 to 2. Billyssia Pierce ’05, founder of Bee Fit Solutions and a pioneer in healthy meal catering in Houston, will be the guest speaker.  Silent auction of Designer, Novelty and Vintage purses. Proceeds fund scholarship for an Angleton senior. Tickets available from committee/board members and online at AngletonAlumni.org under the Events tab.
